Dr. Prakasarao Velagapudi will be speaking on the topic “Science and Spirituality: are they compatible?” on December 19 at Woxsen University (Sadashiv pet, about 60 miles from Hyderabad). We will have an overview of some of the ancient Indian seers and scholars who have written commentaries on Vedas and other Vedic texts which were subsequently studied by scholars from several European countries (Portugal, France, Germany and Britain). We will highlight the pioneering Indian contributions in diverse fields of science, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, medicine etc. How many Western scholars identified with our scriptures, how many western scholars’ association with our Gurus became spiritual and the Nobel laureate’s appreciation of Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. Learn about the compatibility of Science and spirituality advocated by our ancient Rishis have come to be accepted by present day modern scientists.
