“I believe animals should be respected as citizens of this earth. They should have the right to their own freedom, their own families, and their own life.” John Feldmann
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is excited to announce that we have started providing water and food for animals facing the scorching sun. As you can see, the water tanks were cleaned to provide water for the cattle.
The Hindu law books and moral code lay down specific rules, suggesting how animals should be treated and which animals should or should not be used for human consumption. Compassion to animals (bhuta daya) is an important virtue for those who seek liberation or those who want to lead virtuous lives on the path of righteousness to cultivate divine qualities. Killing animals without reason has the same karmic consequence as killing humans since every living being on earth has an opportunity to evolve into higher life forms and work for their salvation.
In the past, we had set up water tanks for the cattle in Kalyanadurgam town, and now, with the onset of the dry season, the water tanks were cleaned and painted.
Giving fruits to the cows and writing the name of our organization on the water tanks set up for the cows.
Mallikarjuna, a blackberry trader, gave us some fruits today for the cows that are suffering from eating plastic waste in Kalyanadurgam town. We thanked him on behalf of our organization, loaded them into the auto, cut them into small pieces, and gave them to the cows in the town and the monkeys.
Later, the name of our organization was written on the water tanks set up for the cattle.
In this heat, when the temperature is already making new records, imagine how tough it would be for the stray animals and birds, who have no recourse from the fury Sun god! But there are ways to ensure that our furry and feathered friends make it through the season with ease if only each one of us becomes a little mindful.
In Hinduism, animals occupy an important place. Hindus believe that animals contain the souls of their ancestors or may have been reborn. Thus, they are treated with respect. They are not to be killed for their food. The cow is regarded as the most sacred animal that needs to be protected, not killed. The Cows symbolize wealth, compassion, motherliness, righteousness (dharma), motherhood, divinity, sattvic nature, sacrifice, service, purity, and auspiciousness. In ancient India, a person’s social and economic status depended upon the number of cattle he possessed.
Many birds and animals die during summer because of severe heat stroke and dehydration.  Realizing the gravity of the situation, Global Hindu Heritage Foundation has created specialized spaces for these birds and animals to shelter them from the heat.
