Today under the Adhibasi Welfare and Development Project of GHHF Assam, one Free Sewing and Tailoring Training Centre was inaugurated for Adhibasi women in village Didarkhush, Lakhipur. At first 100 adhibasi girls got enrolled and they will be trained to be self-reliant. This free cutting and Tailoring Centre inaugurated for our Adhibasi girls of interior village Didarkhush. *This Centre has been started by Tejaswini Committee of Didarkhush village and centre will  run by Tejaswini members there. They have appointed one lady teacher for this training Centre also.
Now GHHF is training 150 Adhivasi ladies in tailoring. This is a three-month course.
Once these girls complete the course, we will continue to recruit more girls for the second batch. We will continue until their needs are met.
It is pertinent to be mentioned here that GHHF Assam and Tejaswini (women wing of GHHF Assam) decided to work for Adhibasi people's with an aim to make them self-reliant as such Adhibasi Welfare and Development Project started by GHHF Assam. We are planning to start a training Centre of handicrafts and driving school in coming months.
Why does GHHF Promote Tailoring in the villages?
1)    One can make a living staying at home in many cases.
2)    Working at home at your convenient time is less stressful.
3)    Working hours can be adjusted to suit one’s needs.
4)    They are more likely to help their family members and friends.
5)    They could start their own business.
6)    Help develop confidence in their own talent and skills.
7)    They will be less dependent on others.
